This event is co-sponsored by Burry Bookstore and Beta Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Proceeds will help fund grants for first year teachers in the Darlington County School District.

Nursery rhymes go nautical in this fanciful book of familiar children's verse with a twist. Row, row, row your boat ... but watch out for the shark! Meet the old woman, who moved out of the shoe and into a shell. Ideal for read-aloud, this book will bring laughter and joy - and just maybe the smell of salt water in the air!

Lucy Nolan was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and wrote her first story at the age of four. She continued writing all through her childhood and had her first novel accepted for publication when she was 20. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Journalism. Since then, she has built a career in marketing, with stints at a broadcasting company, an advertising agency and the marketing department of a large corporation. Lucy still lives in Columbia. This event will be held in the Family Life Center of Wesley United Methodist Church, 145 East College Avenue. Tickets are $10 and include the opportunity to hear Lucy speak and read, as well as purchase copies of her book for personalization. Mother Osprey is available in hardcover ($16.95) as well as paperback ($8.95). Light refreshments will be served.
