In His Very Steps

Charles Jerry Williams, Jr. was born February 1963 in Hartsville, South Carolina where he eventually worked in his parent’s paint and hardware store, on the family vineyard, and as a stock clerk at a local grocery store. After graduating from The Citadel, The Military Collage of South Carolina, he served as a commissioned officer in United States Navy; he later started a computer consulting business serving Fortune 500 clients, the U.S. Government, and numerous small businesses.

Dr. Williams accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1974. He surrendered to God’s call to full-time vocational ministry in 1991, and served as a Christian educator and pastor in Kentucky and South Carolina for more than 16 years.

In addition to his Bachelor’s of Science from The Citadel, Dr. Williams holds a Masters of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theology Seminary, a Doctorate in Theology from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is a candidate for a Doctor of Education from Walden University.

Dr. Williams’ published works include almost two-dozen journal and magazine articles, and he has contributed to three books.

With the Lord’s help, Dr. Williams has overcome much hardship in his life – both as a child and an adult. Today, he enjoys a life of grace and peace with his wife of 26 years, four children, two hyper-active dogs, and one very loved black cat. The recipient of a bachelors, masters, and two doctoral degrees, Dr. Williams lives in the beautiful “King’s town” of Charleston, South Carolina.
